Kurt Abrahamson - CEO of Social Media, Board Member

Kurt Abrahamson is CEO of SocialMedia.com. Kurt has an accomplished history of growing and leading successful businesses and his experience working with the web’s leading publishers gives him the ability to understand the complex needs of media companies.

Kurt came to SocialMedia.com from Google where he first served as Director of the Content Media Group, leading the global launch of Google AdSense. Kurt managed the direct sales channel for publishers and secured long-term deals with five of the top ten web properties. He also served as the Director of Global Sales & Operations Strategy and as Director of Sales Operations for North America.

Prior to working at Google, Kurt served as COO of Jupiter Communications and President of Jupiter Media Metrix from 1994 to 2003. He helped build Jupiter’s business from a 12-person office to one of the leading Internet research organizations, with over 520 employees worldwide. He grew and guided the sales team to secure over 40% market share, establishing Jupiter’s position as one of the leading sources of Internet research.

Larry Bohn - General Catalyst Partners, Board Member

As a Managing Director of General Catalyst Partners, Larry Bohn focuses on identifying new investment opportunities within the software infrastructure, enterprise software applications and information technology sectors. In addition to Visible Measures, Larry currently is a board member of Venetica Corporation, Optaros, Ping Identity Corporation, Black Duck Software, OzVision Global, and Demandware, Inc., which all are active General Catalyst investments.

Prior to joining General Catalyst, Larry was the chairman, president and CEO of NetGenesis, a market leading software and analytic solutions provider. In February 2000, Larry took the company public (NTGX) and in December 2001, NetGenesis was acquired by SPSS, Inc. (SPSS). Larry was also president of PC DOCS, Inc., a leading developer of document management software for enterprise networks and was senior vice president of marketing and business development at Interleaf, Inc.

An acknowledged thought leader, Larry has spoken at leading industry events such as Comdex and Seybold, and has been a guest lecturer at Harvard, Stanford, and the Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. Larry has been a board member and advisor to a number of private technology companies, including Enigma Inc., Metreo, and Bidders Edge. He is also a founder and the first president of OASIS, the industry consortium promoting XML adoption.

Larry is an honors graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and holds a masters of arts degree in Structural Linguistics from Clark University.

Bill Ericson - MDV, Board Member

Bill Ericson joined MDV in 2000 after more than a decade of working closely with entrepreneurs to start and build innovative businesses in the role of lawyer, board member, entrepreneur and investor. Bill believes that entrepreneurship is a singularity of the American experience, and strives to help as a key advisor and counselor to great entrepreneurs from the very earliest days of an enterprise.

Bill's investment focus at MDV is primarily in life sciences, with a current specific focus on molecular diagnostics and platforms that will enable the vision of personalized medicine. Bill has also led investments in a number of information technology and Internet companies.

Prior to MDV Bill founded and ran Venture Law Group's Seattle office. Bill is particularly proud of being a member of the founding team of Rosetta Inpharmatics and serving on its Board of Directors until its acquisition by Merck in 2001.

Bill serves on the Board of Northwestern University School of Law and is a member of the Personalized Medicine Coalition.

Bill received his B.S.F.S. from Georgetown University of Foreign Service and J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law.

Prof. Edward Roberts - MIT, Board Member

Dr. Roberts is the David Sarnoff Professor of Management of Technology at MIT and the Founder and Chair of the MIT Entrepreneurship Center. For over 30 years he chaired the MIT Sloan School of Management's Management of Technological Innovation and Entrepreneurship Group. He co-founded and co-chaired for nearly 20 years the mid-career MIT Management of Technology (MOT) Program. Over the past fifty years Dr. Roberts has become internationally known for his research, teaching and active involvement in many aspects of technology and innovation management.

Beyond his MIT responsibilities, Roberts is actively involved as a co-founder, board member and angel investor in many high-tech start-ups. Dr. Roberts co-founded and was CEO of Pugh-Roberts Associates, an international consulting firm in system dynamics, strategic planning and technology management, sold to PA Consulting Group. He co-founded and is a director of Medical Information Technology, Inc., a leading producer of healthcare information systems, and also co-founded and is a director of Sohu.com, Inc., a leading Chinese internet firm. In addition Roberts co-founded and was for 20 years a General Partner of the Zero Stage Capital Equity Funds, a group of venture capital funds investing in early-stage technology-based firms, and also co-founded CommonAngels, one of the earliest and largest angel groups in Massachusetts. He has been a co-founder and/or director of numerous emerging technology companies, including AMAG Pharmaceuticals, Daktari Diagnostics, DynoMedia, Inverness Medical, PegaSystems, PR Restaurants, and Visible Measures. Professor Roberts has authored 170 articles and eleven books. He has four degrees from MIT in electrical engineering (B.S. and M.S.), management (M.S.), and economics (Ph.D.).

Neil Sequeira - General Catalyst Partners, Board Observer

In addition to Visible Measures Corp, Neil is currently a board member of Vitrue and Eons, a board observer for Brightcove, and Qumas and is actively involved with BlackDuck, ITA Software, and Maven.

Neil joined General Catalyst Partners from Time Warner where he was most recently Managing Director, Technology for Time Warner Investments formerly AOL Time Warner Ventures, the early stage private investment vehicle for the world's largest media company. During his four years at Time Warner, Neil worked closely with various operating groups including AOL, HBO, Time Inc., Time Warner Cable, Turner and Warner Bros. to identify investment opportunities. Neil sourced, led and was actively involved with the boards of several of the companies within the Time Warner Investments portfolio including Arroyo Video Solutions, BigBand Networks, Entropic, Goldpocket Interactive (Tandberg), N2Broadband (Tandberg) and Waterfront Media.

Prior to joining Time Warner, Neil led Mergers and Acquisitions for CMGI, a diversified technology operating company and venture capital firm. While at CMGI Neil worked on a variety of acquisitions and investments in software, media and networking infrastructure and was actively involved with CMGI companies including Alta Vista (YHOO), Engage, NaviSite (NAVI), Ubid (CCSR), and Yesmail (IUSA). Previously, Neil was an Associate with Goldman, Sachs & Co. Prior to Goldman, Neil was a senior consultant with Accenture, where he managed project teams on technology focused strategic and process initiatives for Fortune 500 companies.

In addition, Neil was an early employee at Goldenvoice Presents, a diversified media company and was a contributor to the founding of OpenRatings, a venture backed software start-up based in Boston. He has spoken at numerous media and venture capital conferences and is a judge for the Harvard, MIT and Wharton Business Plan Competitions.

Neil holds a BA in Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.

David Feinleib - MDV, Board Observer

David Feinleib is a partner with Mohr Davidow Ventures and brings extensive entrepreneurial and operating experience to his role at MDV. He invests in Internet-enabled companies.

Prior to MDV, David ran a profitable online advertising business. He founded Likewise, a venture funded company providing interoperability software for mixed Windows and Linux environments. Before Likewise, David was an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Ignition Partners, where he co-founded and was VP of Product Management at Consera Software (HPQ). Prior to Consera, David co-founded and was CEO of onDevice (KEYN), a wireless software company.

Before onDevice, David led marketing and development teams at Microsoft. He managed the Out of Box Experience team for Windows and worked on television and Internet access services. David's first entrepreneurial endeavor was in junior high school when he developed and sold ShareWare programs.

David maintains a blog at www.vcdave.com. He serves on the board of Likewise and sourced MDV's investments in Fliqz, Genius, hi5, Infusion Software and PBWiki.

David holds a B.A. from Cornell University, and an M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
