Yesterday we reported on the explosive viral video growth of President Bush's impressive shoe-dodging talent. Now, 48 hours after going digital, the unprecedented event has generated more than 900 placements, 10.7+ million views, and 93,000+ comments. These numbers have surpassed President-Elect Obama's victory speech by leaps and bounds. It took Obama's historic address three days to break 10 million views, and the speech currently has a total of 62,000+ comments – 30,000 less than Bush's shoe incident has generated in 48 hours. Impressive!
We're going to keep our eye on the progress of these videos (there have been some insane spin-offs – Bush is the Matrix, anyone?), so keep checking in for new numbers. There are no signs of this slowing down anytime soon.
The data used in this post was collected from Visible Measure's Viral Reach Database, a constantly growing video repository of analytic data on 100+ million Internet videos from 150+ video-sharing destinations.
