The Possession returns with a bang on this week's Online Film Trailer Chart with over 3.3 million views. The horror flick follows a young girl on her journey into the paranormal after a chance encounter with a possessed object. The film has more than 130 placements scattered across the web. The trailer for the film has received the majority of the viewership, as well as most of the copies and derivative content. With such a drastic bump in views, it's likely that the studio has increased promotional activity around the film.

Step Up Revolution prepares to release this week, coming in at number two on the Top 10 Film Trailers Chart. Set in sultry Miami, the dance-drama tells the story of a young aspiring dancer trying to make it in a new city. The fourth film in the Step Up franchise stars newcomers Kathryn McCormick, Ryan Guzman and Cleopatra Coleman, who do all of their own dancing throughout the picture. Across a total of 370 placements, 94% are accounted for by copies and derivatives. It generated 2.1 million views this week.

The Dark Knight Rises releases today, dominating the competition with 8.9 million views on the Top 10 Online Film Trailers Chart. The film stars Christian Bale, Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Gary Oldman and is set eight years after The Dark Knight. As we reported yesterday, the film has driven over 220 million cumulative views to date. There are over 2,600 placements for the film, with well over 5,000 clips coming from audiences, an indication of high audience participation.

Ice Age: Continental Drift hits theaters nation-wide this week, coming in at number one with 5 million views on the Online Film Trailer Chart. The CG animated film tells the tale of Manny, Diego, and Sid as they embark upon another adventure when their continent is set adrift. Ray Romano, Denis Leary, and John Leguizamo lend their voices to the project. Out of a total of 830 placements, 700+ are copies and derivatives.

Katy Perry: Part of Me 3D prepares to release this week, coming in at number nine on the Online Film Trailer Chart with 1 million views. The documentary film follows singer Katy Perry as she travels around the world on her sold out California Dreams Tour while also ending her 14 month marriage to British comedian Russell Brand. Across a total of 250 placements, 200 are accounted for by copies and derivatives.

Ted hits theaters nationwide this weekend, grabbing the number two spot on the Online Film Trailer Chart with 5.2 million views. The film tells the story of a 35 year-old man’s break-up with his childhood best friend: a foul-mouthed teddy bear named Ted. Ted was written and directed by Seth MacFarlane, who also voice-stars, alongside Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis. To date, the film has garnered 470 placements, of which 400 are accounted for by copies and derivatives.

The 3D computer-animated fantasy film produced by Pixar Animation Studios features the voices Kelly Macdonald, Billy Connolly, and Emma Thompson. It has garnered 1000 placements, of which 800 are accounted for by copies and derivatives. However, over 70% of the views are being generated from original trailers, TV spots, clips, and other content.

Starring Kevin Bacon, James McAvoy and January Jones, First Class chronicles the beginnings of X-Men, dropping the mutant team into international skirmishes like the Cuban Missle Crisis. Anticipation for the film appears to be high, with its opening week views trumping those of other recent action flicks. For their opening weeks, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides stole 2.6 million views while Thor hammered home 3.4 million views.
