Tiny Prints Goes Huge With Father's Day Video Campaign
This week in viral video: a couple new entries on the chart that you'd expect from video stalwarts BMW and T-Mobile and one that you wouldn't: Tiny Prints, with a touching spot tied to Father's Day that delivered more than 3 million views in a week.
T-Mobile's stunt near Barcelona with a life-sized game of "Angry Birds" generated quite a bit of press here and elsewhere. T-Mobile has a history of ads as performance art as well as timely spoofs.
BMW also has a long history in video, its BMW Films pre-dated YouTube, as well as other more recent examples of automotive exuberance. It's not hard to see why this M1 video drifted onto the chart at No. 10.
Which brings us to the No. 1 video from Tiny Prints, once a tiny startup but now out-punching some giants in the greeting card space. Timely? Yes. Touching? Well, yes. Founded in 2003 by former WalMart marketer Laura Ching, the company grew up over the past decade, offering DIY greeting cards. Last spring it wasacquired by Shutterfly for a hefty $333 million in cash and stock.
