Chronicle Gears Up in Social Video at Release
Chronicle prepares to release nationwide this weekend, climbing to second place on the Top 10 Online Film Trailers Chart with over 2 million social video views. This week marks its seventh week on the chart. The film has had a strong presence in social video with at least six trailers, as well as over a dozen clips and TV spots. It’s also collected over 20,0000+ comments across the Web.
Chronicle will go head-to-head against The Woman in Black this weekend, starring Daniel Radcliffe of Harry Potter fame. Woman in Black comes in on the chart at seventh place with 902,000+ views. Aside from the usual trailers, TV spots and clips, the thriller also has at least four 2-3 minute featurettes, with behind-the-scenes content.
The much-anticipated The Hunger Games debuts on the chart at fourth place with 1.5 million views, with seven weeks until release. The film already has close to 500 clips associated with it and more than 27 million total views. The majority of its views consist of derivatives: spoofs, mashups and other user-generated content.
