The Most Viral Video Charity Campaigns of 2012

To kick off the holiday season, we wanted to put together a list of the top non-profit video advertising campaigns of 2012. After all, it is the season for giving.

To develop this list, we looked at non-profits and charities, and then ranked their video advertising campaigns by True Reach, which means that we looked at all related videos to the campaign, whether it's a copy, a spoof, mashup, or a response.

Topping the list is no surprise -- Invisible Children's Kony has reached heights never before seen for nonprofits in online video. It generated over 212 million views in 2012 and inspired more than 3,200 uploads across the web.

Coming in second is the United Nations' campaign for World Humanitarian Day, featuring a live music video by popstar Beyonce. We also see viral spots from the controversial animal rights group PETA, an anti-smoking spot from Thai Health Promotion Foundation, and a promotional video for Movember, the month-long fundraising event to raise awareness for men's health issues.

What's your favorite campaign on the list? Let us know if in the comments section below!
