Adobe Flash

Adobe Flash is the most widely available online video delivery technology used today. By most estimates, over 90% of video available on the Internet is encoded and delivered via Flash.

To measure Flash-based video content, we integrate directly with Flash video players through a packaged tracking component that is designed to be readily added to any custom player. We also offer pre-built measurement plug-ins for popular video publishing platforms like Brightcove, Ooyala, thePlaformOSMF, and others.

To get our Flash plug-in, please contact us.

HTML5 Video

HTML5 is the next generation of HTML and has been developed as a broadly supported open standard. Among other capabilities, the HTML5 specification includes tags designed to enable the delivery of online video via what is widely referred to as HTML5 video. HTML5 has become one of the major methods to deliver online video to next-generation mobile devices -- including the Apple® iPad, iPhone®, and iPod® Touch -- that do not currently include support for other video delivery technologies.

To measure HTML5 video, we offer a native JavaScript tracking component that interacts with HTML5 video players. No browser-based plug-ins or downloads are required.

Microsoft Silverlight

Microsoft Silverlight is a Web application framework that is often positioned as an alternative to Adobe Flash. Silverlight's browser plug-in solution includes video playback capabilities and has been used most visibly for NBC's online video coverage of the 2010 Olympics as well as for Netflix streaming.

To measure Microsoft Silverlight video, we integrate directly with Silverlight video players through a native Silverlight 3 or 4 plug-in. Alternatively, we can leverage our JavaScript tracking component to interact with APIs exposed to the browser by the Silverlight player, if player integration is not possible.

Apple Quicktime

Among other sites, Apple Quicktime is the video technology deployed to support one of the Web's best-known destinations for watching movie trailers: http://trailers.apple.com/. Our solution for Quicktime uses our JavaScript tracking component and the Quicktime JavaScript API.

DivX

DivX is known for compressing long videos into small sizes with high quality. Like QuickTime, we measure DivX by using our JavaScript tracking component and the DivX JavaScript API.
